Osborne Golf Club in the Isle of Wight has completed a £150,000 clubhouse refurbishment programme.

The 107-year-old club has increased the existing clubhouse with the facility of a pro shop, a new secretary’s office, an increased bar area – and a dance floor.

As well as new furniture, carpets and blinds in the lounge area, there is a new kitchen, a new ladies’ changing room and shower area and alterations / improvements to the existing gentlemen’s changing room and shower area.

The club has had the advantage that several of the members work in the building trade and they have provided their services free in advising the club on work in progress and carrying out some of the construction work themselves.

It is estimated that the work carried out by these members has saved the club in the region of £20,000.
