A National Lottery programme has given a grant of £2,000 to a Nottinghamshire golf club to help it work more with juniors.

Ramsdale Park Golf Centre, which has liaised with the Nottinghamshire Schools Partnership to introduce golf into schools and has staged regular golf coaching camps during the school holidays, has received the money from Sportivate, a £32 million National Lottery programme that gives young adults access to six-week courses in a range of sports.

Nick Birch, Ramsdale Park‘s general manager, said: “Receiving this grant is fantastic news for the golf centre as it aids us in continuing the hard work we have been putting in helping young people stay active and become involved in this game. Once the initial six-week course has been completed there are plenty of opportunities for the youngsters to continue working on their golf.”

Head PGA professional Steve Sayers and teaching professional Tom Wilson host frequent coaching courses with youngsters utilising Ramsdale Park’s facilities, including a covered and floodlit 25-bay driving range, a putting green and a par three golf course.
