Golf club forms deal with Tottenham Hotspur

A Hertfordshire golf club has agreed a corporate partnership with Premier League football club Tottenham Hotspur.

Brocket Hall Golf Club has agreed to host the Europa League outfit’s two annual golf days.

In return, Tottenham Hotspur has said it will work with Brocket Hall on a number of joint marketing initiatives, in which corporate clients will have the opportunity to attend matches.

“Tottenham Hotspur FC has really raised the bar over the last couple of years – and Brocket Hall is delighted to be rubbing shoulders with them,” said David Griffin, Brocket Hall’s club manager.

“Brocket Hall and Spurs share the same ambition of being one of the top clubs in the UK and Europe in their respective fields and we’re all excited at the prospect of working with them again.”

Andy O’Sullivan, director of hospitality for Tottenham Hotspur, added: “We have always had a good relationship with Brocket Hall which is, in my opinion, one of the best golf clubs in the UK and in particular, the north London area.

“It is the perfect place for our players and staff to relax and unwind, and ideal to host our own supporters and clients in a number of golf events throughout the year.”

Teaming up with sports’ teams can be lucrative for golf clubs. For example, recently Renfrew Golf Club affiliated with the Braehead Clan, Scotland’s only professional ice hockey team. The deal saw its players receive temporary membership of Renfrew, while the club was promoted to the team’s thousands of supporters – including via trackside advertising on banners that were displayed on Sky Sports television. Furthermore, Renfrew’s members received hospitality tickets to attend Braehead Clan games. This led to the golf club generating thousands of pounds in revenue, and it boosted membership retention.

In the USA, Cottonwood Country Club also partnered with leading baseball team the San Diego Padres, in which the golf club marketed baseball tickets to its members in return for free advertising. Both sides saw an increase in sales as a result.

    I have had the pleasure of having lunch at Brocket Hall and the whole atmosphere is quite unique the building is very old but looked after so well .All the staff were very friendly and polite we so enjoyed our meal it made a very special day for myself and my husband who was 80.The groundsmen do a wonderful job and the gardeners make it so pretty also staff moral seemed high which is not easy to mantain.The only comment I would like to make is it would be lovely to have a spa centre for the ladies whilst the men moaned and groaned on the golf course also could you not invest in fishing that is the biggest sport nearly in England and you have some lovely water there thank you again.Frances Perkins
