BIGGA launches BTME app

The British and International Greenkeepers Association (BIGGA) has launched an app for the BTME turf management exhibition this month.

“The app includes the schedule at a glance; all details of the Continue to Learn programme; news and updates from Harrogate; information on sponsors; full details of all the exhibitors; floor plans and maps; useful information such as restaurants, taxis and parking, and much more! Simply go to the app store to download the perfect way to get the most out of BTME 2014,” said a BIGGA spokesman. “It will help you get the most out of the turf exhibition of the year.”

He added that the show could be the biggest ever – with golf legend Peter Alliss due to pay it a visit.

“Pre-registration has topped 1,500, we have a sold-out exhibition and bookings for the education programme are significantly up on last year,” he said.

“There will also be over 120 exhibitors from across all corners of the industry, with several companies making their BTME debuts joining over a hundred returning exhibitors.

“Also new for this year is the inaugural ‘Welcome Celebration’ where BIGGA will be toasting success in the industry, featuring a keynote speech from golf commentary legend Peter Alliss. All you have to do to attend what’s sure to be a memorable evening is head to the Royal Hall at the Harrogate International Centre at 5.30pm.

“Over 1,600 people have already booked on to the Continue to Learn education programme. The majority of the workshops are sold out but there are a number of seminars and fringe seminars that you may be able to attend on spec free of charge.”

BIGGA chief executive Jim Croxton added: “The halls have been sold out for months and we anticipate a huge turnout of visitors so good planning is essential to get the most from your experience – and the new app will assist greatly with this.

“BTME is far more than just an exhibition; it is a gathering of the industry, an educational experience without parallel and a melting pot of innovation and problem solving.

“With regard to education this year’s Continue to Learn programme is on track to be the best ever with a vast range of learning opportunities on offer for all levels of experience.

“We hope your visit to BTME is a successful one both professionally and personally and we look forward to meeting you at some point during the week.”
