The largest-ever programme of education at a turf industry event in Europe has been unveiled by BIGGA.

Continue to Learn at BTME 2017 will feature more than 250 hours of education with guest speakers such as Neil Cleverly, superintendent of the Olympic Golf Course in Rio, and the course managers responsible for hosting the last four Ryder Cups.

An integral part of the UK’s largest festival of turf management, Continue to Learn encompasses events for course managers, deputies and all levels of greenkeepers. Workshops and sessions also cater for golf club managers, directors of golf, golf club owners and committee members, ensuring there is an education event for everyone working within the sports turf industry.

More than 3,000 attendees are expected to descend upon the Harrogate International Centre and The Crown Hotel, Harrogate for the four-day series of events.

Hosted by BBC presenter Naga Munchetty, a highlight of Continue to Learn and BTME will be a talk on The Ryder Cup – Past, Present and Future. The event will feature the course managers from Ryder Cup venues Celtic Manor (2010), Medinah (2012), Gleneagles (2014), Hazeltine (2016) and Le Golf National (2018).

BIGGA head of Member Development Sami Strutt said: “BIGGA takes great pride in being able to offer our members and other golf industry professionals access to the best educational opportunities possible, and so I am delighted that we are able to offer our best-ever programme of events. There really is something for everybody.”

BIGGA members can once again benefit from seminar pre-booking and preferential rates for education events, which can be further reduced by purchasing a booking bundle.

New events introduced this year following member feedback include: Dealing with Stress; Project Management; Introduction to Soil Microbiology; PA2 Refresher; Sustainable Grass for Golf; Greens Renovation; Irrigation design. Many other topics are also covered and can be found by accessing the full Continue to Learn brochure.

Continue to Learn at BTME 2017 will take place from Sunday 15 to Wednesday 18 January 2017.

Booking tickets for this year’s event has been made even easier through BIGGA’s partnership with the ticketing platform Eventbrite. A link to Eventbrite features on every BTME event page on the BTME and BIGGA websites.
