Forest Hills Golf Club helps charity acquire a puppy

Forest Hills Golf Club in Monmouthshire has raised more than £5,000 for the local branch of Guide Dogs for the Blind, ensuring the charity can buy a puppy and train it for a year.

The golf club held a tournament that featured 22 teams last month which was sponsored by Hawthorn Pet and Animal Supplies, which will be naming the dog. The animal will be the local charity’s fourth puppy.

Branch secretary Lesley Maclean said: “We are very grateful to everyone who helped us make the day such a success. It costs £5,000 to name a puppy and fund its first year of training. Hawthorns have always been very supportive of guide dogs and we are delighted that they will have the chance to think of a name for the puppy.”
