One of the most famous golf clubs in the world – The Belfry – has begun marketing itself to beginner golfers.

The Midlands golf club, which has hosted the Ryder Cup four times and was the venue for the GCMA conference in 2007, has announced on its Facebook page that it has launched ‘Gamestart’, a series of autumn lessons for beginners that cost just £10 per hour.

“Calling all novice golfers,” said the posting. “Our Gamestart programme is starting this autumn offering four, one-hour long lessons for just £40 per golfer. Sessions are available on Wednesday and Friday evenings.”
