Trump: Royal Aberdeen has been destroyed

The American billionaire, Donald Trump, has said that the world’s sixth oldest golf club has been “destroyed” due to a nearby wind turbine.

He told a press conference following his appearance at the Scottish Parliament’s economy, energy and tourism committee that the erection of a wind turbine at Royal Aberdeen Golf Club has “finished” the course, which was built in 1780.

On Monday a 218 feet turbine, which powers an engineering firm based at Aberdeen Science and Energy Park, was erected at the course beside the 14th tee.

“Royal Aberdeen was a Scottish jewel but the course has been destroyed by a wind turbine,” he said. “You look down a magnificent hole and all you see is a turbine. The whole course is destroyed. It’s finished. It will destroy Turnberry and St Andrews if wind turbines get built there too.”

Earlier Mr Trump stated that he would have built his Scottish golf course in Ireland had he known a windfarm was going to be built near it, and added that he will build his hotel at the Aberdeenshire course if the turbines are not built.

“If we don’t win the fight I’ll have to talk to you again,” Trump told the parliamentary inquiry. “But I think we will win that fight.

“It will be the destruction of Scotland if this madness continues.”

wind energy is a total scam for which we are forced to pay on our ever increasing energy bills. This has helped force 5,5 million of our poorest members of society into fuel poverty.
Wind farms destroy landscape, seascape biodiversity and heritage. In the long term they creat e very few jobs. The developers make millions but very little ever returns tot he community by comparison.

There is a brilliant petition to reduce the subsidy. Just google petition 22704 and vote and circulate please.

Wind turbines disgust me they ruin the countryside and the views that we are famous for. Mr Trump is right I will mean the end to our tourism industry. There has to be other ways that do not ruin the countryside and are efficient unlike turbines.

WAKE UP PEOPLE OUR GOVERNMENT IS DESTROYING OUR COUNTRY!!!

Are you disillusioned by rising electricity prices, over dependence on the “green” dream [especially uneconomical and inefficient wind farms] and THE DESTRUCTION OF OUR COUNTRYSIDE then please add your support to get the Government to have a serious debate on this issue at
