STRI launches workshop to support golf

The STRI has launched an invitation to attend a new and informative workshop designed to support the growth of golf.

Tuesday 30th September – Mid-Yorkshire Golf Club, Pontefract, West Yorkshire

Thursday 2nd October – Sonning Golf Club, Reading, Berkshire

Timings: 10.00am to 4.30pm
Cost: £70 + VAT, includes lunch and refreshments.

STRI and Kanda Golf have teamed up to provide this one-day workshop, designed for golf club managers, secretaries and committee members, to support the growth and success of golf clubs.

Presented by Bob Taylor, STRI & Jerry Kilby, Kanda Golf.

The four elements covered within this workshop are:

  1. The Golfing Environment – how focusing on the environment can help you attract and retain members/golfers and raise your profile in the local community, with inspiring case studies from across the UK.
  2. Selling the Intangible Benefits of Golf Club Membership – how you can define and sell the ‘real’ benefits and attractions of your golf club, such as the prestige, status, social and business enhancement.
  3. Understanding your Own Environment – this session includes how to maintain compliance with the latest updates on environmental and ecological legislation, along with ideas for practical initiatives you can kick-start at your own club, such as nature conservation and water management projects.
  4. A Customer Complaint is a Gift – covering one of the most important aspects of customer service; how to handle complaints from members and visitors with a positive outcome for the customer and your club.

This workshop is presented by two of the industry’s leading consultants:

Bob Taylor – Senior Environmental & Ecology Manager at STRI (Sports Turf Research Institute)

Jerry Kilby – Manager at Kanda Golf
