This man probably is stupid, and he could be a golfer, but he is not a ‘stupid golfer’

A video of a man seemingly trying to move an alligator, which is only entitled ‘Golf Stupidity’ on YouTube, has gone viral since it was uploaded at the end of June.

The 36 second video shows the man putting a blanket or towel on the head of the 10 foot long 300 pound alligator, which is lying in a ditch. He then moves around to its tail and attempts to pick up the reptile.

At that point things go wrong. The alligator, clearly not best pleased with what’s being done to it, turns around and snaps its jaws at the man who falls into the ditch, making contact with his right arm.

The alligator chooses only to snap at the man – allowing him time to get up and move to safety.

Even though comments have been disabled for the video, it has still been viewed nearly one million times since it was uploaded at the end of June, with speculation on social media and elsewhere on the internet as to why the man would behave in such an apparent foolhardy manner.

The title of the video has led to many to believe that he was trying to retrieve his golf ball, which was under the alligator.

However, a North Carolina media outlet reported on a story in 2012 of a biologist who was attacked by an alligator that was stuck in a ditch. It features an 82 second video that includes the same footage but shot from two different angles.
