Greg Norman is not just famous for his golfing ability. He is also the CEO of the course design company Great White Shark Enterprises and a recent project, at Westin’s Le Paradis Beach and Golf Resort in Praslin Bay, St. Lucia, opened in 2008.

Perched on virgin rocky cliffs amidst lush tropical foliage, Norman’s triumph is on par to become one of the world’s premier golf courses. The course offers cliff-side tee boxes and oceanfront greens, while ‘The Shark’s Bight’ beckons the bravest of golfers to drive into the island’s windward breezes and over the Atlantic Ocean to reach the pin.

‘The Shark’s Bight’ refers to Norman’s signature hole at his new-designed championship golf course at Westin’s Le Paradis Beach and Golf Resort. The name, of course, plays off Norman’s moniker, as well as the breathtaking jagged end of the Praslin Bay peninsula.

“It is so gratifying to see my design come to fruition,” said Norman. “Now that the holes have been shaped you can really get a feel of how the course looks and plays. It’s truly magnificent, with the lush rainforest on one side and jagged cliffs on the other. Each hole has a view better than the next.”

A spectacular 554-acre ultra-exclusive multi-phased luxury residential resort community, Le Paradis is managed by Starwood-Westin Hotels and Resorts and features a first-class spa, 100-slip marina, premier restaurants, conference facilities, mixed-use components and much more.

With Greg Norman’s acclaimed course framing the resort, the tropical paradise is the premier address on St. Lucia and one of the most luxurious in the Caribbean. The course is managed by renowned Troon Golf.
