The parent company of TopGolf, which runs driving ranges in England, has been named as one of the Daily Telegraph’s ‘Top 1,000 Brightest Businesses’.

Golf Entertainment International generates sales in the UK of between £5 million and £500 million, and has demonstrated growth in spite of the economic downturn, the two criteria needed for the entry.

TopGolf is a target-based electronic driving range with centres in Watford, Herts, Chigwell, Essex, and Addlestone, Surrey. Its golf balls contain microchips that send player’s individual scores when they drop in target holes on the range.

TopGolf group chief executive officer, Joe Vrankin, said: “We’ve worked hard over the past few years to ensure we stand out from the crowd and differentiate the TopGolf offering from that of our competitors.

“We believe we’ve built a unique product that taps into both the leisure and sports market, and evidently our consumers buy into that.

“We have a number of exciting plans in place for the next 12 months and look forward to the New Year with a sense of optimism.

“This accolade is a testament to all the staff at TopGolf.”
