‘High achiever’ GolfMark status for Cannington Golf Centre
Cannington Golf Centre in Somerset, a nine-hole golf course located at a further education college, has been awarded ‘high achiever’ GolfMark accreditation.
The facility, part of Bridgwater College, which offers land-based studies and sporting opportunities to its students, encourages beginners to play the game.
The GolfMark plaque was presented to the chairman of the members’ committee, Mark Hurrell, by Paul Barrington, regional coach development officer for Somerset Golf Partnership.
“Attaining GolfMark status demonstrates a club’s commitment to junior golf and beginners and sets the standard for a safe and enjoyable learning environment,” said Paul. “I am delighted to come to Cannington to present this award, as Ron coached me when I was a child, and so it means a lot for me to see that the commitment to encouraging more young people to play and develop is continuing.”
